Week 6: Exploring The Columbus Museum
Week 6 included a memorable visit to The Columbus Museum, where participants explored the galleries, created art in the studio, and shared a meal before departing. Participants viewed Hair Painting No. 29, in awe of its size, while mimicking gestures Jarrett Key would have made while painting during the performance. While touring the Museum, participants viewed and discussed artwork by other legendary American artists & notable Columbusites such as Alma Thomas, Amy Sherald, Bo Bartlett, and Horace King. A gallery game that included drawing a card with a directive and exploring the collection to find "my favorite," "most expensive," "most special," "took time," "most expensive," and "best idea" lead to fantastic and thought-provoking conversations.
